Fashion Take
This week’s Fashion Take tags along as I search for a diamond in the rough!
Thrifting for a new clothing item to Reinvent is one of my favorite things to do. I am aware that it isn’t for everyone, but I love shopping at thrift stores because of all the possibilities! It can take a long time to find just one thing, even so, the uniqueness of the item and the crazy cheap price makes it worth it. I’ve been going to thrift stores long enough that I created a system that helps me utilize the time I have to shop.
These days thrift stores are organized into types of clothing. To cut down on the time I’ll skip over the sections that I don’t really care about. For me, it’s usually the t-shirts and sweatshirts. Depending on the time of the year, I’ll also skip over the tank tops. Another way I save time is skimming through the pants instead of looking at the individual pairs. I know what colors I like so as I pass through and only stop when a color or texture catches my eye.
I am most thorough when it comes to blouses, dresses and skirts. These items are what interest me the most when it comes to Reinventing.
This black beauty is the garment I chose to Reinvent for next week’s Fashion Take. I got it for one entire dollar! I love the asymmetrical waist line and the use of tan and black. Check back to see what it becomes!
Thanks to Hooton Images for keeping up with me and taking photos. Also, thanks to their lovely intern, Mary Mier, for snapping a few pics too.
