Raw Denim Project
I am so excited to be a part of The Raw Denim Project that the Denim Saloon and Bemis Press Design Shop are hosting.
The Denim Saloon will be keeping a visual journal of ten participants who will wear a pair of raw denim for several months.
What makes raw denim worth documenting? Over time the wearer’s daily habits and movements influence the distress markings on the denim making the jeans truly a representation of individual’s personality and lifestyle. Awesome!
For this project I’m wearing a pair of raw denim from Railcar Fine Goods called the Donna X001. They are high waisted and fit like a glove. Once I put them on I did not want to take them off and I’ve been wearing them at least four days a week.
I didn’t know much about raw denim before I was asked to wear a pair for this project. I had to look up what it was all about. HERE is a great site that will answer your questions about why you should choose raw denim over pre-washed or distressed denim.
